Weekend in Venice: What You Must See

Weekend in Venice: What You Must See

If you are planning a weekend in Venice, two days is not a lot of time when you think of the many things to see and do. Here is our mini-guide of the things you absolutely must see during your weekend.

Day One: the places of interest

Dedicate the first day to the most famous places: St Mark’s Square, the Doge’s Palace, St Mark’s Bell Tower, the Clock Tower and the Rialto Bridge. If you have time in the afternoon, visit the Correr Museum. In the evening, consider a show at the Teatro la Fenice or the Teatro Goldoni.

Day Two: gondola and hidden corners

Make time for a gondola ride, preferably around sunset. Afterwards, discover Punta della Dogana and the Basilica della Madonna della Salute, or get lost among the works at the Gallerie dell’Accademia. Alternatively, tour the lagoon islands — Murano, Burano and Torcello — easily reached from the Guglie vaporetto stop, just 1 minute from our hotel.

Why stay at the Hotel Alle Guglie

Our hotel is just a short distance from the train station and Piazzale Roma. If you book at least 3 nights, at least 30 days in advance, directly on our website, you can take advantage of a 15% discount.
