Campo dei Mori: Myths and Stories to Experience Together

Campo dei Mori: Myths and Stories to Experience Together

Tucked away among the lesser-known streets of Cannaregio lies the Campo dei Mori — a small square full of charm and legend, easily reachable on foot from Hotel Alle Guglie.

A square that speaks through stone

The name refers to three stone statues built into the facades of buildings, representing three wealthy Eastern merchants — Rioba, Sandi, and Afani — who, according to legend, were turned to stone. The most famous, Sior Antonio Rioba, became a symbol of satire and free speech.

What’s nearby

Just a few steps away is the house of Tintoretto. Also nearby is Calle Larga, which leads to the Fondamenta della Misericordia.

How to get there from Hotel Alle Guglie
